UPDATED - The Tornado Watch has been ended.
A tornado watch is in effect for Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence, Franklin, and Oswego counties.
The watch also includes more than 30 counties across New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts as severe weather moves through the region.
A tornado watch does not mean a tornado has been spotted. It means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms to develop. Residents should stay alert and be prepared to take action if a tornado warning is issued.
