A St. Lawrence county man is accused of stealing $10,000 worth of copper cables from a Verizon site.


New York State Police arrested 42-year-old Alan Adams of Star Lake on Wednesday June 16th.


Adams was charged with third-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal mischief.


Troopers allege that Adams had damaged the property and stole copper cabe at a work site at the intersection of State Highway 3 and Scott's Bridge Road in Fine, New York.


Approximately 1,000 feet of 200-pair 19-gauge copper aerial cable valued at $9,750 and 300 feet of 12-pair 22-gauge copper aerial cable valued at approximately $180 were taken from the scene.


All together the cables taken were valued at around $10,000.


Adams was processed at the Star Lake Police Station, arraigned in Clifton Town Court and released.
